'Although I'd always lived under Taliban rule, I never thought it would affect us like this. We'd always known that Hussein's health meant we would one day have to seek help outside of Afghanistan, but we hadn't prepared for Afghanistan no longer being a safe place for us. It was our home, we'd never known anything else. I realise now that home isn't where you live, it's the people you live with. And you can take them with you anywhere.' Book jacket.
